Artists of India Feature #4 - Madhumita Srivastava, Art Teacher, Illustrator and Designer

"I am an art teacher first. I may juggle other roles of being an illustrator, designer and artist, it’s teaching art that floats my boat, gives me the greatest joy. It’s when we are all making art together my kids and I, we exist in space where anything is possible- trees can be purple, people can fly!

A space where imagination rules and there are endless possibilities..... We have to not treat art as a hollowed object, but as something we emotionally and viscerally connect. We don’t need to understand it or overthink the outcome instead concentrate on the process- immerse ourselves in momement of creating. You will find it will satisfy you and liberate you like nothing else.

So draw, sketch, paint, build, make for yourself and not for others. Explore, express and create art with abandon and sheer joy and no limitations..."
