What is a Doodle?
Wikipedia likes to define it as “A doodle is a drawing made while a person's attention is otherwise occupied. Doodles are simple drawings that can have concrete representational meaning or may just be abstract shapes.”
We happen to think though that a doodle can serve as a conduit into a persons thinking at that point of time. Perhaps they were in a state of conflict and out came a random sketch depicting a battle field or perhaps the mood was more mischievous and abstract and resulted in a funny sketch with quirky characters.

Great Architecture is all around us, remnants of the past and deserves to be captured. They are the hulking masses of stone which have come together to be shaped in ways to leave a stamp of their architect on the earth for generations to come.
Artist Ayşe Bakır felt the same way and decided to capture it using some vibrant Letraset Promarkers and Pen’s in his work. The work pulls at the heart strings and awakens the stirrings of travel within us so that we may observe them in person someday. Till then however we must be content to only stare and sigh.

We are constantly living in a world of turmoil, the rock we inhabit constantly spinning from night to day and back again. The stars on the other hand seem to be mute observers, silently viewing the various human follies.
Perhaps this very nature of theirs to remain the same inspired our ancestors to see shapes in the sky and ascertain that we were influenced by them and that our destiny could be divined by them. Perhaps these groups of stars unmoving and yet mesmerising considered us their pawns in the chessboard of life.

Every year in February the Area of Kala Ghoda closes its roads to cars and allows the public to indulge in a celebration of the Arts.
Gone is the spacious yet ever crowded parking lot outside Jehangir Art Gallery and the never ending lines of cars flanking the road on either side. Instead there are stalls selling curios and handicrafts, Art installations which provoke and question, workshops covering Theater, Cinema, Literature and more spread across the area of Kala Ghoda and its surrounding areas.

A gentle breeze, buzzing crowds and the waves for company. This was the scene we saw before our eyes when we visited the Art by the Sea event organized by Le Sutra on the Carter Road promenade.
